Two Men and the Bear

Two Men and the Bear Friendship is truly tested in the times of need. A true friend will never abandon you when you need them the most while a two-faced friend will leave your side at the slightest inconvenience. Scroll down to read the story of two men and a bear and see for yourself if you have people in your life that you may be better off without. Once upon a time, a woodcutter lived in a small village near a forest. The forest was full of wild and dangerous beasts including deadly lions and terrifying bears. Without a doubt, the forest was a dangerous place but the woodcutter’s household depended on it. He would go deep in the forest to get the best wood for selling to the villagers. One time on his way to the forest, he met a man who was going in the same direction.>>>

Prayer one of the Best Free Gifts!

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean. I asked God for a flower, He gave me garden. I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU… If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God Painful moments, trust God…. Every moment, thank God. A Selection of Prayer Quotes “Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.”  ~ Mahatma Gandhi “The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”  ~ Søren Kierkegaard “I cannot believe in a God who wants to be praised>>>

Ways to show children we care!

Ways to show children we care! Notice them and notice when they are absent. Learn their friends names. Ask them about themselves. Wave and smile when you part. Look in their eyes and get on their level when you talk to them. Do a chore that is normally reserved for them. Tuck an encouraging note inside their lunchbox. Give them your full attention. Tell them some of the ways they make you happy. Make them laugh. Laugh with them. Laugh at their jokes. Delight in their discovery. Write an encouraging note or a postcard. Make their favorite treat to welcome them home from school with. Show them your joy when they arrive. Ask for hugs and kisses. Take them to a movie they want to see. Go on a treasure hunt (collect all the loose change around the house/car) together and then make a trip to the arcade with your>>>

TIME FOR AMATEUR HOUR

TIME FOR AMATEUR HOUR The worst mistake I made in my first business is that we were profitable. Unprofitable internet companies were valued on the dream. Profitable companies were valued by profits. Another mistake I made was I never returned calls. And another mistake was not firing clients fast enough. This is what is known as “amateur hour”. In 2010 the Wall St Journal hated me so I stopped writing for them. In 2009 the Financial Times hated me. In 2008 thestreet.com hated me. So I decided to write for just me. I didn’t know what to write. So I started writing incredibly embarrassing things about myself and what I learned from them. Many people in the financial biz are afraid to admit they make mistakes. So I decided to share all of mine. At the time everyone thought I went completely mentally ill. Even some relatives stopped talking>>>

On a positive note I’ve learned that:-

On a positive note  I’ve learned that:- I’ve learned that:-   no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I’ve learned that:-  you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I’ve learned that:-   regardless of your relationship with your parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life. I’ve learned that:-  making a “living” is not the same thing as making a “life..” I’ve learned that:-   life sometimes gives you a second chance. I’ve learned that:-   you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back. I’ve learned that:-  if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work>>>

NEED WASHING?

NEED WASHING? A little girl had been shopping with her Mum in Kroger. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there, under the awning, just inside the door of the Kroger. We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing, so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day. Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance>>>
