It takes a lot of time and effort, but who doesn’t want to earn just a little more than they do? We know that lately the economy has been on a downturn and everybody is looking for some sort of a side gig to supplement the income from their full time job.

Here, we have compiled a list of some great ways to make just a bit more money.

Blogging is gaining popularity, a fun and easy yet an enjoyable thing to take up, though you might not make a lot of money from the get-go but you can definitely get a few extra bucks rolling in. If you think you can write engaging blog posts then put your skills to use and find a good blog to work for, or set up your own blog and start writing immediately; it could even be related to your academic background, you imparting your knowledge.

Parents are willing to pay a handsome amount to get their kids tutored well so you can take up this part time job easily and set up your own schedule with your clients. Even if you aren’t that great with the usual subjects like Math or Accounting, there are plenty of tutoring opportunities. Give music tutorials, teach arts and crafts, it could be anything. You can take up multiple students to teach simultaneously and earn a pretty decent income on the side.

There are a lot of people out there who are willing to pay others to write for them simply because they are too lazy or its too time consuming for them. So if you think you can write well, you can easily make a lot of extra money by doing this part time job. You can use freelancing websites like Fiverr and PeoplePerHour for this purpose.

Working As a server

The best thing about the service industry is the flexible work schedule. You can easily work as a bartender or a server at a restaurant during evening hours or at nights, there is a great potential of making a fair amount of money at such jobs.

Arts and crafts

If you are an artsy sort of a person who loves drawing, painting, making different artistic pieces, then you can easily sell your own stuff. You can set up a small stall at an exhibition and showcase your stuff or you can put up your stuff for sale on eBay, Amazon and other websites.

 Sell your unwanted stuff

Do you have a lot of spare furniture in your house that you’d like to replace? Tons of books that you have read and now want to give away? What are you waiting for? Just snap pictures of your stuff and post online on eBay, Artsy, Amazon and make some money selling all that stuff just lying around in your house going to waste.

Web Design

Do you have an eye for design? If so, you can easily work from home for clients via freelancing platforms and earn a great deal of money designing websites for people in your free time. This kind of work will be quite exhausting but you can easily make a lot of money and also gain the experience.

Pet Sitting

Dealing with kids can be troublesome, but if you’re a parent or the oldest sibling then you can easily look after kids on Saturday nights or also help tiring parents in taking care of children. Parents are willing to pay a good amount to baby sitters for taking care of their babies so you can earn a lot of money.

Don’t Make These SEO Mistakes

Don’t Make These SEO Mistakes

Don’t Make These SEO Mistakes

Search Engine Optimization is the way to get your website on top search engine results. This helps in boosting traffic on your website and increases your viewership. This will eventually increase the popularity of your website and unlock greater profits. However, when using SEO techniques, you need to be strategic; otherwise, it won’t be useful for the website. Following are the SEO mistakes you must avoid when redesigning your site.

1.     Not Using the Right Keywords or Keywords Stuffing

Utilizing the right keywords in your content is important. However, don’t go overboard with them and stuff them in the content. This will not only reduce the content’s quality, but also cause penalty risks for you. The use of 2 to 3 keywords in a 500 word blog or article is considered reasonable. Additionally, it is imperative to identify keywords that are relevant to the topic. This will attract the right audience and reduce the bounce back rate of the public coming across your page by mistake. Be specific, use generic words, and you are good to go!

2.     Lack of Unique Titles and Meta Descriptions

Be as creative as possible and use titles that are attention grabbing and intriguing. Ask yourself, will you read a blog with the same name as the website? If the answer is no, you have realized what I am talking about. It is important to use descriptive titles as these will be used in the bookmarks and sharing links. Moreover, your Meta description is significant too. It is the first 160 characters that the reader will read and base the entire decision of continuing to read that blog. As they say, the first impression is the last impression, so make it an outstanding one.

3.     No Unique Anchor Texts of External or Internal Links

Adding internal and external links facilitates in improving your website’s traffic. However, you need to ensure the quality of those links rather than quantity. Including an authentic link which is popular will advance your ranking more as compared to 10 links from random blogs. Therefore, ensure that the links are related to the information and are reliable. Furthermore, the use of anchor text is crucial. But don’t use the same for all the posts. Be creative and try mixing the anchor texts with the content if a call to action is not needed. It should look natural and go with the flow.

4.     Poor Content

Don’t make any compromise on the quality of your content just to add keywords, and get more visitors. Many times, to save money, people use software that can rewrite content in different ways. This is not a good idea as this software only rewords the article and presents it to the audience. There is nothing outstanding about the information they have provided, which will eventually cost you loyal readers. So increase the conversion rate by hiring better writers.

5.     Not Finding the Source of Conversion

The keywords you use in your content could be causing the increase in conversion rate. It is important to know which keyword has brought the most traffic so you can utilize them later in your other blogs with similar topics too. However, if you do not use Analytics to detect the keyword causing the most converts, you will not be able to utilize that piece of information to better optimize the site.

There you have it, 5 mistakes you need to steer clear of if your goal is to achieve top ranking in search engine results.

How Can SEO Boost Your Business

How Can SEO Boost Your Business

How Can SEO Boost Your Business

It is true that the use of Search Engine Optimization can boost the viewership of your website and get you in the top listings as well. But, did you know that it has power to help you generate business revenues too? That is right; by acquiring search engine techniques, you can improve your business. To understand how, you need to comprehend the importance of SEO in the business world. Below are ways SEO can work wonders for your business:

1.     Compete with Other Brands

There are a number of brands out there who are doing similar business as you do, and may also offer the same price and quality as you. This increases the competition level between different brands, and therefore calls for something that not all businesses can indulge in to make your brand stand out. SEO is one such thing as it will assist in getting your brand noticed first because of better ranking and people will come to you first.

2.     Online Presence of your Business

Through SEO, you can improve your online presence by updating your website with time. This is done by posting new blogs on a weekly basis. Just as different and innovative commercials of same products are run on television to make things fresh; you will also need new content, images, tag lines, and Meta description to keep your business site alive. It is one way to market online.

3.     Social Media Friendly

Social Media presence is as important as SEO. The best part of SEO is that it is compatible with other marketing tactics like social media sites. Many businesses, brands, and companies now have a social networking page. The sharing of SEO content on these sites with the hash tags option also boosts presence of the right audience. However, these must be used intelligently and appropriately to target the right viewers.

4.     Enhanced Speed

The speed of your site plays a major role in predicting if the visitor will stay for long, or come back or not. Therefore, this has also become a ranking aspect, and is vital where SEO is concern. To ensure the fast speed of your website, consider the recommendation put forward by Google.

5.     Authorship with Google

Google is making innovative changes to provide users with the best content and reliable resources. By connecting the content with the Google+ website, you can establish authority and improve your ranking through your followers and followings. This SEO technique is still on its initial stage, so you can connect your profile with the content and take advantage of it.

6.     Greater Visitors through Links

SEO allows the user to add internal and external links to their content. These links open gates for more visitors if they are from famous sources such as a social media account, a page of an organization, or a good quality blog website.  The better the quality of these links, the greater will be your visitors!

As businesses are shifting towards the online medium, the use of SEO is increasing and benefiting these brands and businesses more than it ever did in traditional marketing. By making the right use of this technique, your business will get popularity and people will start relying on you. Eventually, this will have a positive impact on your sales and you will be making profits in no time!
