Paying It Forward Through Crowd Funding

Paying It Forward Through Crowd Funding

Paying It Forward Through Crowd Funding

Crowd funding can be turned into a symbiotic relationship between the investor, benefactor and the society. Following are the ways in which crowd funding pays forward.

1.     Generates a Sense of Ownership in the Society

Whenever we pay for a particular agenda, we take up the ownership. For example, if you are crowd funding for some campaign at your local hospital, the people who have participated in it will unconsciously feel responsible for the effective execution of the entire project.  You will not only collect money but will manage to get some volunteers for the program.  Better workforce means better implementation.

2.     Assists those in Need

Crowd funding is no longer a money generating technique only. It has now evolved into a social model that lends a hand to those in need. Websites like GoGetFunding, GoFundMe, GiveForward and YouCaring have collected millions in funds to pay bills of the patients who, otherwise, cannot afford to do so.

3.     Educates an Uneducated

Several programs and websites have been launched recently that are using a specified amount of their total funds, collected through crowd funding, for the education of an illiterate. This can assist a nation to grow a force of highly educated individuals who, in turn, will work for the betterment of the society.

4.     Promotes a Society’s Soft Image

Crowd funding can be used in promoting the soft image of the country. Filmmakers or artists can collect funds for creating movies depicting arts, culture and customs of that country. Books can be written and published using the collected funds by similar means.

5.     Makes Dreams More Attainable

Crowd funding has turned out to be source of hope for dreamers in the society. It brings together groups with common goals and helps them in achieving their collective desired goal. This creates a sense of accomplishment, resulting in content, gratified and happy individuals who are ready to work further for the bright future.

6.     Helps in Successful Campaign of a Cause

Crowd funding can be used as a crucial marketing tool for noble causes. If you are a social enterprise that has been working for the underprivileged sector, and you are out of funds and volunteer, this is the best route to follow. Crowd funding will create awareness and generate money to boot.

Referring to a very famous parable, ‘Allegory of the long spoons’, humans cannot survive without establishing meaningful relationships amongst themselves. These relationships can be built only if we are helping each other out on different fronts. Crowd funding can be served as a significant tool in achieving the greater good.
