Believing is Achieving

The power of belief is an amazing thing that has led people to achieve some of the most remarkable feats to go down in history. The first step towards achieving your lifelong dreams is to believe that you can! Once you believe in yourself, you will find the determination and motivation to work tirelessly toward your goals.

Anton Chekhov summed up the power of belief in a single line when he said that, “Man is what he believes.”

The key to success is as simple as believing in yourself and working hard to realize your goals. Let’s have a look at some inspiring stories of people who took this advice to heart, dreamed big and did not give up!

The Wright Brothers

The airplane is one of the most revolutionary inventions in the history of mankind but do you know about the struggles of the two brothers who to dared to believe that they could fly?

Wilbur and Oliver Wright were brothers who owned a small bicycle shop. None of them was qualified enough to design a machine as complex as an airplane but that did not stop them dreaming the impossible. They were criticized and even made fun of but they were determined enough to continue working on their vision.

Since they believed they could do it, they worked day and night to achieve their dream of flying. Finally, on December 17, 1903, they went down in history when they successfully made four brief flights at the Kitty Hawk.

Helen Keller

Helen wanted nothing more than to be a world-renowned writer. She was smart and dedicated but the only problem was that she was deaf and blind! The odds were against her since the beginning but that failed to stop her from achieving her dream.

Her efforts paid off and she became the first deafblind person to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree. She got actively involved in politics and fought for the rights of women and workers breaking all the stereotypes associated with disabled people. She showed the world that it is possible to achieve your dreams, irrespective of your circumstances.

The secret to her success was that she strongly believed in herself. She did not believe in giving up and often said: ’When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.’ Today Helen has several books and more than 400 articles published under her name!

You can find hundreds of stories where people were able to achieve what was previously considered impossible simply because they believed in themselves and did not lose faith in God. The good news is you can do it too!

Your goals could be as simple as getting back in shape, getting your dream job, or visiting that place you’ve always wanted to go to. Whatever goal you set, the important thing is to believe that you can achieve it because if you can believe it then you can most certainly do it!
