Using Your Faith as a Springboard to Success

Faith may not be the first thing that comes to mind when talking about success, but when you actually look at the concept you realize that it is the basis for all things necessary for success. The question that comes here is this, what is faith and why it is even necessary? In terms of religion, faith is a belief in the existence of God and all that He has said in His scripture. It is this belief, the sense of higher existence and someone who is there to look out for you, that allows people with faith to be more successful then ones who don’t believe in the presence of God.

But what has faith got to do with success? Doesn’t success come with hard work, dedication, passion and trail? It does, but where would you find the inspiration to work, the motivation to continue and the courage to get back from failure if not from faith? Faith allows you to accept that no matter what happens, it will turn out to be for the best, even if you do not realize that at the current moment. As per the Psalm, “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart”. (37:4)

Using Your Faith as a Springboard to Success

The idea that there is someone out there who has your back is perhaps the most comforting thoughts anyone can ever have. Imagine being at a dead end and not knowing what to do. Imagine that you have tried everything but things are not working out in your favor and success seems to be out of hand even though it felt like a victory before. What do you do? If you are devoid of faith and belief, then you get depressed, lose hope and think that there is simply nothing that can be done. If on the other hand, you are of the faithful, you will be comforted by the fact that the power of prayer is still alive. You can beg the Lord for mercy, pray to him for help and be relieved by the thought that “God works in mysterious ways” and will find a way out for you. The proverb says “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”. (16:3)

This is the difference between the power of faith and having no faith at all. Another thing about faith is that unlike ones who don’t believe in anything, faith lets you make jumps and leaps where others may hesitate. You realize that to be successful, you will need to make certain decisions that don’t seem as conclusive as you would like, you will need to make sacrifices and accept minor defeats. If you have faith you will know that things happen for a reason and even if a small setback comes, the larger picture is going to be bright. You start believing the notion that nothing is impossible so long as you are willing to give it your best.

Hence, faith gives you courage, determination and the will to fight the odds. Faith is what keeps you striving for success even when success seems unattainable.
