Don’t Make These SEO Mistakes

Search Engine Optimization is the way to get your website on top search engine results. This helps in boosting traffic on your website and increases your viewership. This will eventually increase the popularity of your website and unlock greater profits. However, when using SEO techniques, you need to be strategic; otherwise, it won’t be useful for the website. Following are the SEO mistakes you must avoid when redesigning your site.

1.     Not Using the Right Keywords or Keywords Stuffing

Utilizing the right keywords in your content is important. However, don’t go overboard with them and stuff them in the content. This will not only reduce the content’s quality, but also cause penalty risks for you. The use of 2 to 3 keywords in a 500 word blog or article is considered reasonable. Additionally, it is imperative to identify keywords that are relevant to the topic. This will attract the right audience and reduce the bounce back rate of the public coming across your page by mistake. Be specific, use generic words, and you are good to go!

2.     Lack of Unique Titles and Meta Descriptions

Be as creative as possible and use titles that are attention grabbing and intriguing. Ask yourself, will you read a blog with the same name as the website? If the answer is no, you have realized what I am talking about. It is important to use descriptive titles as these will be used in the bookmarks and sharing links. Moreover, your Meta description is significant too. It is the first 160 characters that the reader will read and base the entire decision of continuing to read that blog. As they say, the first impression is the last impression, so make it an outstanding one.

3.     No Unique Anchor Texts of External or Internal Links

Adding internal and external links facilitates in improving your website’s traffic. However, you need to ensure the quality of those links rather than quantity. Including an authentic link which is popular will advance your ranking more as compared to 10 links from random blogs. Therefore, ensure that the links are related to the information and are reliable. Furthermore, the use of anchor text is crucial. But don’t use the same for all the posts. Be creative and try mixing the anchor texts with the content if a call to action is not needed. It should look natural and go with the flow.

4.     Poor Content

Don’t make any compromise on the quality of your content just to add keywords, and get more visitors. Many times, to save money, people use software that can rewrite content in different ways. This is not a good idea as this software only rewords the article and presents it to the audience. There is nothing outstanding about the information they have provided, which will eventually cost you loyal readers. So increase the conversion rate by hiring better writers.

5.     Not Finding the Source of Conversion

The keywords you use in your content could be causing the increase in conversion rate. It is important to know which keyword has brought the most traffic so you can utilize them later in your other blogs with similar topics too. However, if you do not use Analytics to detect the keyword causing the most converts, you will not be able to utilize that piece of information to better optimize the site.

There you have it, 5 mistakes you need to steer clear of if your goal is to achieve top ranking in search engine results.
