Why Divorce can be a Blessing?

If you have been recently divorced you’ll know the stigma and the apprehensions that come with untying your marriage knot. Divorce is not exactly something that most people look forward to. In fact, the easiest thing to do for people who have gone through a divorce is to feel defeated and saddened at the failed union between you and your ex spouse. There are plenty of obvious drawbacks of a divorce, but is there a silver lining to the dark clouds?

As time has passed and my experience has grown, I have come to realize one thing. That a divorce is just another challenge in life, it is not the end of the road for you and it is definitely not something to overburden you for the rest of your life. Yes it is not the best thing that can happen to a person, but who is to say that they can guarantee a life without misfortunes for anyone? It is easier to think that once you have gone through a divorce that you have lost your chance to live life. That is not the case. Divorce can be a blessing and here is why:

·        You get rid of a Toxic problem

There is a reason you opted for divorce, it could have been constant fighting, it could have been a lack of love or it could have been a cheating partner. Whatever the case there was a reason why you decided to call it quits and the upside of a divorce is that now you are rid of that reason. You are free of the toxic person and a relationship that weighed you down and you far better in life without these strings attached to you.

·        You Come Across Your True Potential

Dawn only breaks once you have gone through your darkest hour. It is in the darkest of hours that you will really start to get to know yourself as person and the strength of character that you posses. Divorce is the time when you are often all alone, fighting your fears of uncertainty with hopes for a better future. It is in this tike that your character is tested and you can become a better human, stronger and more adept at dealing with challenges.

·        You have turned New Leaf

The relationship you had with your spouse is now in the past. After your divorce that is all in the past, you have turned a new leaf and have a blank canvas of life in front of you. You are free to paint it any which way you want. Let your imagination run wild, make the most of life and enjoy your freedom to the maximum. Take the free time on your hands to meet friends and family, travel around the world and experience new things.

A divorce is the end of a relationship, it should not be the end of your life and how you live it. There is so much more to the world after divorce and divorce itself is a blessing in disguise.

“What we wait around a lifetime for with one person, we can find in a moment with someone else.” ― Stephanie Klein
