Debunking myths about selling on Amazon
No doubt Amazon is the largest player in the E commerce market. Widely regarded as the king of e-commerce, Amazon is expected to reach an annual sales figure of an astonishing $200 billion in two years, with around 175 million monthly active users.
There is generally a lot of confusion regarding selling stuff on Amazon. Without further ado, let’s discuss the myths.
Amazon is just a website
No it’s not. Amazon is a website for online shoppers to go visit and purchase stuff. Nothing can beat Amazon if you are looking to use this platform for selling your stuff with almost 175 million monthly users. Amazon is just another shopping website is in essence a myth since it’s far, far more than that, being the best online platform for business.
Selling on Amazon is Difficult
If you have just started with business, you might find it difficult to navigate through the site, but Amazon helps immensely, having a large number of merchants with their online business. For just a small fee, Amazon handles majority of the customer support tasks, making it easier for you as there will be zero phone calls and shipping problems.
Just ship your product and Amazon will take care of everything.
You need a specific number of reviews on your products
People believe that you need to have a large number of reviews to finally get your product noticed, which is not true at all. Yes, the products that sell well are likely to get better reviews but the search results are based off sales, not the reviews.
Amazon is too crowded to enter now
Amazon has almost 200 million sellers, yes crowded, but not overly so. As mentioned earlier, Amazon has a monthly 175 million active users so there are equal opportunities for both the sellers and the merchants to enter the market and give it a shot.
Private labeling is important to build your brand
There is a multitude of different ways to create new products. You can easily throw a brand name with just the title and not even add a logo and start selling. If you really want to build up the name of your own brand, then its takes a bit of dedication, but there’s a lot involved than just the private labeling of your particular product.
You can’t be successful by selling on Amazon anymore
This myth can be busted right off the bat. Like previously stated, Amazon is reaching nearly 100 billion and will surely exceed that in the next two years. This goes on to show that it’s a very wide and open market for anybody to enter just about now and the chances of having a successful online business are bright.
