7 TYPES OF ‘FRIENDS’ TO AVOID

An English dictionary defines a friend as an associate who can be trusted with one’s affection and can provide assistance though he/she may be vaguely acquainted to you. As much as this definition might hold for many of your friends, 1/3 of them are wolves in sheep’s clothing, research shows. One must be careful of them or their lives might end up as hell. Run through the list below and find out for yourself how many you have!

  • The copy machine

This kind of a friend duplicate everything you do. Be it the hairstyles, clothing, walking styles, they even try to smile just the way you do! This is not your friend but a fan of yours. There is power in discovering who you are and living it and when another person tries to reproduce you, it becomes sad.

  • The pretender

This comrade vanishes during your low moments and land in when you are high. When asked where he/she has been, he/she appears as a saint and swears by his/her mother that he/she had no idea what you were going through. Such friends are also the types that borrow your money and never return because they think by virtue of them being your friend they are not under any obligation to return it.

  • The cheater

Not that they lie to you, well in a way, but they are actually cheating on you with your lover. They try all ways to see the nakedness of your partner and what follows is a series of flirt messages. Your partner will not tell you either because they fear you will abandon them. So, they cheat on you without your knowledge.

  • The gossipy friend

They keep you updated with all the juicy gossips about what happened to who, who got kicked out by who and can double up as your news reporter. As much as it might be sweet to hear what others are going through, your turn will soon reach and imagine when they will have to narrate your story to others!

  • The pendulum

As much as friends should be there for each other, you know, the kind of a shoulder to lean on, some actually overdo it. You become their emotional dumping ground. If they are happy, they will run to you screaming and when they are sad, they will hug you tears-flowing. You will never see them except when they are in these two states.

  • The selfish friend

They want to benefit from anything you have including your advice on who to date but magically evade you when you ask for their help.

  • The rival

Competition of any form is welcomed and is healthy, but when it comes from your close friend it’s another story. This is because everything will always be about outdoing each other and when you get fed up, he/she becomes your enemy. No one wants that bad ending.
